This presentation discusses the use of simulation games in the training of resident assistants, and discusses such items as student response to this type of training device, rate of success in promoting discussion, stimulating thinking, and developing skills, and the use of this device as a vehicle for peer feedback. Three specific games are presented as examples dealing with basic decision making, programming, and women's rights. The discussion of these three games and their specific content aims at stimulating ideas among the audience for possible uses of the device on other campuses. The final part of the presentation deals with the specifics of creating new games for other campus situations and at developing skills in the area of staff training and in the development of new applications of the simulation device.
