Unit: Signals, Inspection Pack, National Trial Print.
Australian Science Education Project, Toorak, Victoria.
As a part of the unit materials in the series produced by the Australian Science Education Project, this teacher edition is primarily composed of two sections: a core relating to nonverbal communication and a number of options. The core is concerned with body talk, signal meanings, facial expressions, and signal studies. Options are given under the headings: Recording Signals, "What Do I Feel?", Codes, Animal Signals, The Eyes Have It, and Studying Faces. All students are asked to do the core in small groups and complete pre- and posttests. Behavioral objectives are given to facilitate students' learning. Also included are recommendations for use of the unit, feedback from the first trials, lists of equipment, a bibliography of references, and a questionnaire for teacher comments. The accompanying record book is intended for students to record observations and write answers to questions. (CC)
