A Resource Guide for Teaching Chicano Studies in Junior and Senior High Schools.
Barrios, Earnest, Comp.; And Others
In 1969, teachers of the San Diego City School District, students, and representatives of the Chicano community assisted in the development of this resource guide for junior and senior high schools. Information gleaned from history, sociology, anthropology, and literature was compiled. Contributions from art, music, and drama were also included to make the guide a more complete teaching and learning tool. Using the guide, students should be able to better understand the history, tradition, and culture of the Mexican American and relate this to present-day educational, economic, political, and social problems encountered by Chicanos in contemporary American society.
