Measuring Human Behavior.
Lake, Dale G., Ed.; And Others
This reference book is designed for the social science researcher, the applied behavioral scientist, and other practitioners or researchers who need instruments measuring human behavior. The first section of the book provides reviews of 84 instruments designed to measure social functioning--38 oriented to personal variables (13 cognitive-perceptual, 19 affective-motivational, and 6 overt behavior), 24 interpersonal, 10 group, and 12 organizational. For each instrument included, information on the following is provided: title, author, availability, variables, description, administration and scoring, development, critique (reliability, validity, norms, possible difficulties), general comment, references, and uniterms (key words referring to the variables tapped by the measure or relevant to it). In the second section, 20 other compendia of instruments are reviewed. For these, information on the following is provided: title, authors, availability, testing areas covered, description, critique, and general comment. In addition to an author index, a uniterm index is provided to enable readers to locate instruments bearing on variables in which they are interested. (KM)
