This volume is the first of three reporting on The Study of Junior Colleges, a project of the UCLA Center for the Study of Evaluation and the U.S. Office of Education. Volume I, the review of the literature on junior colleges, is divided into 12 chapters focusing on 9 areas of interest: major administrative issues and problems, junior college students--a general survey, disadvantaged students and low achievers, relationships with the community, remedial programs, innovations in junior college education, vocational education programs, faculty, and counseling services. Each section presents a summary of known information and areas in need of research.
