Special Programs Aimed at Reaching Children: S.P.A.R.C. Case Studies II.
Silberman, Adolph, Ed.; And Others
This case study booklet, written by the program's counseling staff, evolved from five actual cases in which a psychologist and counselors were involved. Both the techniques and the results are specified in the hope that counselors and psychologists in other districts will attempt similar methods in helping children with deviant behavior problems. Although names of the children have been changed for their protection, all the techniques and data presented are accurate. Case studies include the use of counseling groups to promote positive peer relationships, counseling with behavioral methods in the classroom, the use of the behavior modification techniques of contracting, positive reinforcement, and successive approximation.
