Composing this document are 15 research-based speeches presented at the North American Conference on Labor Statistics by students and leading authorities in the field. Among the prevailing themes were: (1) labor statistics and their relationship to life styles, (2) women laborers, sex discrimination, and provisions for working mothers, (3) recent research conducted on social indicators and their relationship to the labor market, (4) blacks in the building trades, (5) inflation: its effects and implications to labor, (6) wages and productivity in the United States and Canada, and (7) the status of the labor market as it relates to the teenager as a potential member of the labor force.
