The Multiple Alternatives Program (MAP) represented an open experimental approach to graduate education. Assuming attitudinal changes must necessarily precede effective new learning, the purpose of this study was to determine the effects of MAP on attitudes and self-concepts of participants. The statistically significant findings indicate that the MAP participants developed a more favorable attitude toward higher education than a comparable control group of regular graduate students.
