Wolf, Stephen M.
Providing a broad framework of goals, content, teaching strategies, class activities, and resources, this quinmester curriculum guide for students in grades 10 through 12 emphasizes economic, social, and political development in the United States since 1865. The content focuses on industrialization, minority groups, reform movements, foreign affairs, and current problems. Both affective and cognitive objectives are stressed. Major concepts of American history are introduced. It is hoped that students will not only gain knowledge of the content but also develop inquiry skills, attitudes and values needed to become intelligent participating citizens. The arrangement of the survey course is similar to the other series of quinmester courses described in related documents. (SJM)
