Cooperative education, said to be a "sleeping giant" in vocational education, received special authorization in Public Law 90 576 and was made a priority in vocational education. This publication summarizes information to assist the states in planning development of cooperative vocational education: definitions, funding sources, program content, and applicable legislation including regulations for State vocational education programs. It is intended to be used in conjunction with "A Guide for Cooperative Vocational Education" prepared by the University of Minnesota under contract with the Office of Education and available as ED 037 564.
