Planning and Development: New Roles for the Principal.
Miklos, E.
In this paper, the author traces the phases in the historical development of the functions of the principalship in Canada -- from administration by imitation and innovation to the administrator as planner. The author emphasizes the planning function of the principalship and suggests that by delegating more responsibility to staffs and teachers, principals will provide themselves with more time to devote to goal setting and the evaluation of alternatives.
