This issue of Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS) Newsletter reports on several activities in which the BSCS group is engaged. A progress report includes information about revised publications, films and slides, activities abroad, and summer institutes. A progress report of the program for mentally handicapped students is included. Activity announcements in the area of human sciences for middle schools are made. A list of BSCS area consultants is included with their addresses. Notes about publications and new slide productions are given. An experiment on respiration for use in the classroom and an experiment to evaluate students' understanding of the concept of conservation are described. (PS)
