This booklet contains 74 instructional objectives and related evaluation items for beginning Spanish, grades 7-12. It is organized to cover the basic pedagogical steps of understanding, speaking, reading, and writing a foreign language. Each objective in the "Collection" contains three elements: (1) the objective, (2) measurement items, and (3) means of judging the adequacy of the student's response. The objective itself is stated in operational terms. Most of the concepts to be taught are incorporated in two objectives, one calling for a written and the other for a spoken response. The majority of the objectives are accompanied by one sample item and five additional items, each of which is designed to test the student's acquisition of the desired behavior. Evaluation criteria and possible responses are provided for each objective. (RL)
