Descriptive Data Base for the Three Year NorCal Attrition Study, Phase I-III.
Kester, Donald L.
The primary objective of the Three-Year Nor Cal Attrition Study was to demonstrate that community colleges could overcome the "revolving door" problem and help potential dropouts. It was further realized that the rich descriptive data base that Nor Cal had collected could be of use to the entire academic community. Although grand totals for the Nor Cal consortium data by category of response have already been reported, it was decided that a more detailed representation of this data base should be produced and disseminated. The computer printouts for phases 1, 2, and 3 were collected and the data were arranged by college in tables for each of the questions in the original Northern California Junior College Cooperative Study instrument. While all data is available for phases 2 and 3, some of the data for phase 1 has been lost. Although the descriptive data is presented by college, the schools were randomly assigned alphabetic code letters to insure anonymity. Summary tables for the three phases of the Nor Cal Study are presented in separate sections of the report. (Author/AL)
