Economic Education Experiences of Enterprising Teachers. Volume 7.
Joint Council on Economic Education, New York, NY.
This pamphlet contains selected articles submitted as entries in the 1969 Kazanjian Awards Program for the Teaching of Economics. In these short articles teachers disclose educational strategies in precise step-by-step detail, indicating exactly how they conveyed an economic fact, problem, or concept to their students. The articles are grouped by education level, thus Chapter One is devoted to the primary grades, Chapter Two to the intermediate grades, Chapter Three to junior high school, Chapter Four to high school, and Chapter Five to college. In addition to the major articles on educational strategies in economics, a section titled "Good Ideas in Brief" is appended at the close of each chapter containing one paragraph descriptions of simple economic teaching strategies. A final sixth chapter on research in economic education in elementary, secondary, and college grade levels has been included. (Author/AWW)
