This curriculum guide for teachers of levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 Spanish stresses the development of basic language skills and an increased understanding of cultural aspects of the country. Each of the course levels is outlined in these areas: (1) guiding principles; (2) course objectives; (3) content and scope--topics, structures, vocabulary, and culture; (4) suggested activities; (5) methodology; and (6) student evaluation. An extensive, functional vocabulary list is provided for each level. Appendixes include a list of celebrated holidays and a directory to supplementary instructional materials.
