The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of the workshops, collect data to further enhance the programs, and determine the job satisfaction of the participants. The study involved 154 participants in nine 1970 Industrial Arts Curriculum Project (IACP) summer workshops for construction teachers. An achievement test, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire, and a followup questionnaire were used to collect data, and the Fisher's t-test was used to determine the mean score differences and to test the hypotheses. The findings indicated that: (1) There was a significant increase in teachers' knowledge of IACP content and process, (2) The criterion group of experienced IACP teachers scored significantly higher on achievement pretest than did the experimental trainees, (3) The mean achievement pretest score of the criterion group was higher, and (4) There was no significant difference in job satisfaction between those who elected to teach the IACP program and those who did not. It was concluded that the workshops were relatively successful, and that the organization and overall operation of the workshops appeared to be relatively effective. (Author/GEB)
