This recourse guide is one of a series of units on the theme Communities Around the World for grade 3. Background material on Paris, France is given for the teacher describing urban characteristics, French culture, and the physical site of the city. Objectives and goals related to concepts, generalizations, skills, and attitudes to be developed are defined. 13 initiatory activities, 50 developmental activities, and 4 culminating strategies are described in a format designed to help teachers see the relationships among objectives, content, teaching procedures, and materials of instruction. Educational media are listed and pupil materials prepared for this cultural study (maps, diorama projects, and holiday information) are included in the appendices.
