The two-day conference included the following: (1) a tutorial on Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) services including those of the National Science Library, COMPENDEX, and the retrospective and current-awareness searches of "Chemical Titles;" (2) a workshop on profiling and search editing, for the aforementioned services; (3) a discussion of the experiences of those providing and those using SDI services; (4) a keynote address on on-line systems; (5) a session on MARC tapes which included search programs at the University of Alberta, a tutorial, and use of the tapes at the University of Saskatchewan, and (6) a panel discussion on joys and rewards or trials and tribulations of automating a library.
