The solution of educational problems in a dynamic society requires a reform of present opinions about instructional content, teaching methods, and the process of teacher education. It also requires an examination of the part educational technology will play in the process of reform. To use the new educational technology effectively, the behavioral objectives to be achieved by the individual student must be carefully defined. A system of marking or scoring for the purpose of evaluating individual needs should replace the present system of marking for the purpose of comparison or grading alone. Current psychological research suggests the place of the new media in the sequence and continuity of the overall instructional program. The behavioral objective, the individual needs of the student, and the ultimate goals of the educational system should be considered in the selection and presentation of appropriate educational media. A successful educational program should provide for the constant re-evaluation and change of media and methods in line with the evolving needs of the individual student and the society. (JY)
