This in-depth analysis of 415 documents focuses on the concerns of school children from the preschool level through grade 12. Examined are patterns of behaviors, both personal and academic, and ways in which school personnel and parents can improve those behaviors. Also discussed and evaluated are programs designed to help the personal growth of both parents and children as well as student academic performance. Areas covered include: (1) Personnel--Counseling Techniques, Counseling Goals, (2) Behaviors--Addictive Behaviors, Family Environments, Educational Environment, Cognitive Behaviors, Vocational and Educational Behaviors, Attitudes and Characteristics, (3) Services--Health, Orientation, Placement, Nonclassroom Development, Curriculum and Program Development, and (4) Support--Materials. Documents reviewed include materials from the time period of January through June, 1970, found in the "Research in Education,""Dissertation Abstracts" and journal articles. Selected documents are reviewed, and trends noted and analyzed, and suggested future areas of concern for ERIC/CAPS delineated. (CJ)
