Utilizing funds from the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title I, representatives of the Pima Agency, Education Branch, requested the assistance of the Bureau of Educational Research and Services, College of Education, Arizona State University, in the development and presentation of a program of professional in-service education to enrich and supplement the educational program being provided to elementary and secondary school children on the Gila River Pima-Maricopa Reservation. The program consisted primarily of a series of teacher workshops, special consultants' assistance to the Indian community, and escorted teacher visitations to exemplary schools. For each of the 9 in-service program events which took place from March through May of 1967, the following information is included: a statement of goals, outcomes desired, a brief description of the program, and a brief statement of the degree of success attained.
