The directory lists 66 national voluntary agencies which are involved either directly or indirectly in providing services for the mentally retarded. Each agency has described in its own words its activities, role, and relationship to the mentally retarded. Addresses and telephone numbers of the national office of each organization are also included, although most organizations have many local chapters which interested persons may contact for further information or services.
