HumRRO Research on Project 100,000.
McFann, Howard H.
This paper incorporates findings and plans by Human Resources Research Organization research units, on training and performance of men varing in aptitude and ability level. The research objectives of the study were to obtain information on what, if any, impact men enlisted under the program would have on training and operations, and to understand the relationship between measured aptitude and performance both in training and on the job. Summary data showed the general relationship between Armed Forces Qualification Test scores and performance to include laboratory tasks and operational training. One of the conclusions is that efficient and effective training must take into account individual differences. Plans were presented for providing necessary information on factors involved and techniques to account for them. Instructional methods were selected to maximize the opportunity for the low-aptitude recruit to learn. (Author/PT)
