Two months after participating in the Interpersonal Relations series of a continuing education project (See AC 008 840), public health workers in North Carolina completed a detailed questionnaire designed to ascertain attitude and behavior changes resulting from the project. Participants were asked to give examples of altered relationships with fellow workers and/or clients; to cite ways in which they were able to improve their work performance through knowledge, approaches, or techniques suggested in the programs; and to account for any lack of program effect. Respondents were also asked to explain what organizational changes (if any) the programs had created within their health departments. More than 1,600 comments were divided into 12 categories according to perceived impact or lack of impact on attitudes and behavior, resulting transfer of training or lack thereof, and positive, negative, or no organizational change, as reported by local health department personnel and State Board of Health members. No definite conclusions were formulated. (LY)
