Enquete sur le language de l'enfant francais (Investigation of the Language of French Children): The Spoken Language of Nine-Year-Old French Children. A Word Count Based on the CREDIF Transcriptions. Document No. 2.
Rutherford, R. W., Ed.; Wears, M., Ed.
Transcriptions of recorded conversations of nine-year-old French children are analyzed and presented in this comparative word count. The actual count of the 55,588 word corpus is arranged alphabetically and contrasted with selected, identical words found in the Francais Fondamental word list. Proper nouns are listed separately at the end of the regular count, and grammatical functions of items are mentioned when a word appears. The count lists word frequency, word totals, and the Francais Fondamental word count. Discussion of classification, column labels, and notes on child language are included. For the companion document from which this word frequency count is derived see FL 001 897. (RL)
