Overall Application of Computer Technology to the Education and Research Programs of Air University. Final Report.
Williams, Richard H.; And Others
A study was conducted to determine the applicability of computer technology to the education and research activities of Air University. Twenty-five units of the University were studied in depth. The information thus collected provided the data required for analysis. Data analysis indicated the set of functional education and research activities that were amenable to and would benefit most from the application of computer assistance. Further analysis identified the computer-based functional capabilities required. The conclusion derived from this analysis activity was that Air University should start action to procure an on-line interactive time-shared primary mission computer system that would be capable of background production with batch-processing availability. The equipment, software, and personnel required to operate such a system are described and several system configuration options are suggested. (Author/JY)
