It covers three main areas of concern: (1) formal and informal procedures for diagnosing physical status, emotional and social growth, and reading potential and skills; (2) suggestions for organizing the classroom and class records, for grouping students (power, skill, and social groups), and for scheduling activities; and (3) lesson plans on listening, speaking, word recognition, writing, spelling, handwriting, and reading comprehension, appreciation, and interpretation.
