Handbook of Procedures for the Design of Instruction.
Briggs, Leslie J.
Instruction can be systematically designed using the procedures, or model, set forth in this handbook. Steps are given for writing, selecting, and organizing behavioral objectives and for identifying their levels. Test construction, testing, and grading are explained. Flowcharts illustrate how to determine required competencies and actual entering competencies of students taking a course. Diagrams show how to select and prescribe media with consideration for learner, task, and media characteristics. A few suggestions are made to those who may wish to produce their own materials. Suggestions are also given on how to improve ongoing courses. Exercises, references, self-tests, and assignments interlace the text. Answer keys are given in the appendix. (MF)
