This volume organizes information on research and development in early childhood education. Goals and objectives of the 77 programs reviewed are described, and the strategies for implementing the programs are discussed. Organizational factors and the problems encountered in the programs and projects are considered. There is a short discussion of the conclusions and implications of the preceding. The volume consists of appendixes, which list programs of the National Laboratory on Early Childhood Education, Research and Development Centers, Regional Educational Laboratories, and Cooperative Research Projects. The goals and objectives of these programs and projects are listed, and taxonomy sheets are provided. Each program is summarized according to title, staff, goals, methods, and characteristics of the users. Also listed for each of the 77 programs are expected results, evaluation procedures, relationship to other center programs, and center focus.
