Oakleaf School: A Model for Individually Prescribed Instruction. Report Number Three.
Scanlon, Robert G.
A model Individually Prescribed Instruction (IPI) project was implemented at Oakleaf Elementary School (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) in the basic content areas of reading, mathematics, and science. To enable the teaching staff to prepare individual prescriptions, behavioral objectives for the curriculum areas, diagnostic instruments (placement tests, pretests, posttests, and curriculum-embedded tests), and materials needed to teach identified objectives had to be developed. Further, the administrator, in designing and implementing such a project, had to consider the physical plant, staff, pupils, and desired educational goals. Flow charts of teacher functions and student progression are included. (SP)
