The need for school construction in urban areas is discussed, emphasizing the involvement of lay persons in the community in the planning of new buildings. Urban school construction problems and some possible solutions are considered. Discussion is included of procedures and limitations pertaining to the involvement of the community as a whole in various aspects of the work of the school.
