Although there might not be any one solution to the problems of how and when to introduce literature effectively into the college language curriculum, stress, at any level, should be placed both on student enjoyment and the relevancy and difficulty of the reading materials selected. College language teachers must investigate (1) what constitutes good reading habits, (2) the use of English in the foreign language classroom, (3) vocabulary building techniques, (4) the inclusion of folklore, and (5) integrated courses the cut across subject areas if literature is to have a secure position in the curriculum of the future.
