A Comparison of the Effects of Library Control Systems.
Nance, Richard E.
Part I presents an initial review of the literature pertinent to the research problem. The literature review has two divisions. In the first division, the previous works relating to systems analysis studies of libraries or information storage and retrieval systems are reviewed. The second division includes the review of literature pertinent to the use of simulation in large scale systems analysis. The second part of the proposal defines the research problem which is being proposed. The research concerns the investigation of the effect of the control system on the users and funders of the library and on the library itself. Included in Part II are the statement of the proposed research and a timetable for the completion of stages in the research. In Part III the significance of the proposed research is discussed. Part IV of the proposal descirbes the evolution of the generalized departmental library model, and a test for the Krannert Library is treated briefly in Part V. (Author)
