This article provides a current status report on the computing and computer science activities at Stanford University, focusing on the Computer Science Department, the Stanford Computation Center, the recently established regional computing network, and the Institute for Mathematical Studies in the Social Sciences. Also considered are such topics as administrative data processing, information retrieval, instrumentation computers, financial support for the programs, and real-time data acquisition and process control.
