Policy Issues in Urban Education.
Smiley, Marjorie B., Ed.; Miller, Harry L., Ed.
This collection of 27 essays, some published elsewhere, is a product of Project TRUE (Teachers and Resources for Urban Education), which has been conducted at the Hunter College Curriculum Center since 1962. The essays have been used experimentally in a number of classes at Hunter College and other institutions providing special courses for teachers of disadvantaged youth. Part I of the book contains readings on teaching in a ghetto school, Part II deals with curriculum for the disadvantaged, and Part III treats the problems associated with school integration. Each essay is briefly introduced by an editorial comment. (EF)
