These curriculum guides were developed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to be used by teachers and administrators of Indian students from the beginning level through the eighth. The four volumes provide a structuring and sequencing of themes and concepts designed to prepare Indian children to compete favorably with their peers in other school situations. Explanations and activities are provided for each level in the areas of guidance, social studies, music, listening, speaking, reading, writing, literature, art, health and physical fitness, science, and number concepts.
