Reviews Hanson's findings that laboratory research tends to demonstrate a positive correlation between attitudes and behavior while field research does not. Female subjects acted out neutral messages to obtain gaze baseline, then positive or negative message to camera. Half used strong emotion; other half used weak emotion. This study examines the ways in which neighborhoods as physical environments affect children's play and play patterns. Four urban neighborhoods were examined for terrain, access to play space, social interaction, locus of play, safety, and mobility. The amount of anxiety suggested the need for clinical intervention to reduce procedure-related distress in children with cancer.
