Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various aspects of society, raising both opportunities and challenges. As its presence expands, understanding its implications and effective use becomes increasingly important. Objective: This article aims to examine the current applications, potential, and implications of AI, with a focus on how to harness its benefits while addressing associated risks and concerns. Methods: The article explores the inner workings of AI--particularly large language models--and outlines best practices for their effective utilization.
