Staggered Spondaic Word (SSW), test results were studied in 93 normally achieving children and 97 children referred to a learning disabilities clinic. All subjects were 8-11 years of age. The study examined the decision-making processes of 15 administrators, 22 psychologists, 28 teachers, and 15 nurses in judgments about learning disabled. A study involving 154,203 Hawaiian public school students (5 to 20 years old) found a significant correlation to children born in each successive month (months were numbered from January onward) who were classified as learning disabled.
