Replicates and corroborates a study by L. L. LeShan which reported that middle class (MC) children's stories cover a longer time span than those of lower class (LC) children. MC children's stories, however, were also longer in length and contained more past tense verbs. Time span may be an artifact of story length. (DB)

Results showed that the 22 reading impaired seven- to nine-year-olds, none of whom had oral language deficits, showed no significant differences on most perceptual/motor tasks tested, suggesting that previous evidence indicating poor temporal integration in reading impaired children was due to inclusion of children with oral language deficits.
