Johnson, Darwin; Wen, Shih-Sung – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
Black undergraduate students (N=262) randomly assigned to three groups read premarked reading materials having both correct and extraneous markings. Results indicated that markings significantly affected reading comprehension. Recommendations for educators concerning correct and extraneous markings are made. (Author)

The study investigated WISC-R subtest pattern scores of 58 learning disabled children. The evidence indicates that the low subtest scores on Arithmetic, Coding and Information were characteristic of this group. The study did not support the Verbal-Performance discrepancies as useful in the diagnosis of learning disabilities. (Author)

This research shows that women classified as academic, honor and random have unique group characteristics; however, honor and academic women also hold some common characteristics.
