Research is reported in which subjects were required to perceive sentences in noise. A series of sentences having the same syntax and rhythm was presented. The purpose of the study was to isolate groups homogeneous in role-taking ability and to describe them on dimensions of the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) Socialization (So) scale.
