Determined effects of time limits on interview behavior of Type A and B persons. Type A and B participants discussed positive and negative aspects of social life with counselors in time-limited or time-unlimited conditions. Clients (N=31) completed a six-week program using Gestalt two-chair dialog to work on intrapsychic conflict related to the making of a decision. Clients were classified as resolvers or nonresolvers. Resolvers were found to be significantly less undecided and less anxious after treatment. (Author)

Assessed differences in cardiovascular reactivity between high and low life-stress students (N=26). Results indicated high life-stress individuals maintained their elevated stressor levels throughout recovery from a laboratory stressor, and showed significantly higher systolic recovery levels compared to the low stress group. Identified wives (N=56) of hemodialysis patients at risk for problems adapting to their husband's illness, and explored personality variables that might enhance coping.
