Rosinski, Richard R.; And Others – Child Development, 1978
First, third, and fifth graders made judgments of the geographical slant of surfaces depicted in photographs while optical slant and postural orientation were manipulated. The results indicated the existence of a linear mechanism which compensates for the effect of postural inclination. (JMB)

Norberg, Kenneth – Educational Communication and Technology: A Journal of Theory, Research, and Development, 1978
Although perception theory and research are relevant for learning theorists and educational technologists, they have not been regarded as a practical resource by most. Their place in education will be determined by empirical testing of psychological hypotheses as well as by philosophical assumptions. (Author/STS)

Steele, Donna; Pederson, David R. – Child Development, 1977
In two experiments, forty 26-week-old infants were repeatedly exposed to an object and were then shown an object that was different from the original object in color, shape and/or texture. Results showed that looking and manipulation increased for the novel shape and texture objects and looking increased for the novel color object. (Author/JMB)

Enns, James T.; Girgus, Joan S. – Developmental Psychology, 1985
Observers aged six to 24 years estimated distances between elements in patterns illustrating Gestalt grouping principles of proximity, similarity, closure, and good continuation.
