Factor analyses of the WISC, ITPA, and PIAT, revealed that 85 percent of the total variance of these tests can be accounted for by an abbreviated battery of 12 of the 26 subtests. Results of this study indicate most child characteristics are considered by teachers to be relevant to learning disabled (LD) or emotionally disturbed (ED) labels.
