School Climate and "Comfort in the Workplace" of Educational Teams in Private Muslim Schools in France
Jean-François Bruneaud1; Rania Hanafi2
British Journal of Religious Education, v47 n2 p100-110 2025
This article is based on the partial results of a study conducted in France among private Muslim schools (PMS), which have been developing slowly for the last 20 years. Through the analysis of the data collected by semi-structured interviews and "in situ" observations, the aim is to understand how the notion of 'individual character', which is a specific feature of private schools that distinguishes them from their public counterparts, contributes to a sense of well-being among the educational staff of PMSs. The religious and cultural dimensions, which are largely at the basis of the individual character of PMSs, will be examined in order to understand how they contribute to the development of this 'comfort in the workplace'.
