Unwed mothers who decide to place their child for adoption were compared, both pre- and post-parturition, with those who chose to keep their child. Results show the majority of women who wished to remain childless had support for that decision although they characteristically had fewer reference groups than females who looked forward to having children. Examined the sexual history of 2,003 young women to determine whether childhood sexual abuse contributed to a greater risk for teenage pregnancy.
