The perspectives and experiences of 20 paraeducators working with inclusion students with disabilities (grades K-8) who also present significant behavioral challenges found that paraeducators tended to assume high levels of responsibility for managing the academic and behavioral needs of special-education students in inclusive settings. A study used the ABILITIES Index to assess the relationship of inappropriate behaviors to social skills and behavior, vision, intellectual function, and intentional communication in 202 children (ages 6-59 months) with visual impairments.
