A university laboratory school counselor was consulted by a fourth grade teacher in order to resolve disruptive classroom behaviors of one student who did not stay seated and spoke without permission. A behaviorial approach was employed and the study illustrates how the counselor can be effective as a consultant. (Author)

The results of the data revealed a trend toward agreement between teacher and students as to the perception of the seriousness of behavioral acts, yet a discrepancy between the two groups as to appropriate treatment of behavioral problems.
